What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a fitness program designed around the things you do in the real world. Every day, you bend down and pick things up, you put things over your head, you squat down, you stand up, you run after your kids or jump over a puddle. CrossFit prepares you for all that and then some by performing those exact movements in our workouts. We combine exercises from things like weightlifting, gymnastics, and track and field, and we mix it up a lot, so your body is always adapting, getting stronger, faster, better conditioned. And the key to the whole program is that you work really, really hard… so you get fit really, really fast.
I watched some videos about CrossFit on YouTube, and there’s no way I can do any of that!
Neither could any of the people you saw in the videos when they first started doing CrossFit. We start everyone at they level they are ready for and teach you how to do the movements safely, effectively and efficiently. As you get stronger and better we will progress you to the next level, making sure you maintain safe and efficient movement the whole way. Before you know it you’re hammering out 30 pullups in a single set and we’re taking videos of you and posting them on YouTube for other CrossFit hopefuls to watch!
Isn’t CrossFit dangerous?
Yes it is, if you do it wrong. But so is brushing your teeth if you jam the toothbrush into your eye. That’s why we have coaches lead every class to teach you how to do everything properly and make sure you’re not doing something dangerous. Most people weren’t born knowing how to perform Olympic Lifts, but they weren’t born knowing how to drive either. You have to learn it somewhere, and getting quality instruction is far better than trying to figure it out on your own.
